  • Description

    Popular landscape ornamental for shade and foliage. Traded as early as the mid-1600s to enhance landscapes. Native to Vermont.  

    Other uses for this species include revegetation, buffer plantings, and bird habitat. The plant is tolerant of a range of soil types and moisture levels. Red maple is also moderately tolerant to shade.
