Reminder for Rotational Grazing FAP Applications Due June 15th

Text written by Susan Brouillette of UVM Extension:

The grass has been growing fast and many folks are starting to get cows out on pasture. Before things get too crazy, don’t forget to submit your Farm Agronomic Practices Program rotational grazing application through the VT Agency of Agriculture (VAAFM). Applications are due by June 15th. If you’ve never applied, don’t worry! All the information you need regarding eligibility, payments, and the application requirements can be found at https://agriculture.vermont.gov/fap. The application is simple and you can always reach out to us for help.

The Farm Agronomic Practices (FAP) Program utilizes state funding to help Vermont farms implement soil-based agronomic practices that improve soil quality, increase crop production, and reduce erosion and agricultural waste discharges. The FAP program also provides education and instructional activity grants to support outreach regarding the impacts of agricultural practices on water quality and current state agricultural water quality regulations.

VAAFM strongly advises you to submit your application online. However, you can also print or download the application and submit with all other required documentation to AGR.WaterQuality@Vermont.gov or to FAP Program, 116 State Street, Montpelier, VT 05620.

If you have questions about the application, please call VAAFM at 802.828.2430.
